HISTORY

F R Payne & Son was established as an Industrial Spray workshop by Fred Payne in the 1930’s with the original premises being located in Pulteney St. Fred’s son took over the business and moved it to premises located in Stepney during the 1950’s and introduced Powder coating to the business. The business was re located to a more industrial setting in Woodville North in 2008 by the Pascoe Family who have owned the business since 1999.

F R Payne has a long history of Surface Finishing in South Australia and was the only powder coater located here in Adelaide for a number of years. We pride ourselves on providing a first class service and finish and service for all customers. Continuing relationships with some of South Australia oldest and most successful manufacturing and engineering businesses has been the foundation on which F R Payne & Son’s longevity has been built. As a company we have had a large involvement in the Automotive Industry here in Australia, having powder coated, wet sprayed and dipped millions of under body car parts, car and truck rims servicing the high intensity of the Just In Time manufacturing market. F R Payne continues to engage with locally based companies that are investing in and growing their local and overseas opportunities for both the immediate and distant future.
